Dev Update #8
Account deletion, a privacy and consents page, one-click unsubscribe, and a reliability pass under the hood.
Hello there! We went quiet longer than planned. Work and a couple of side projects pulled us away. We also took time to pause and reflect on what to focus on next. Now that things have settled, there’s a stack of less visible but important work to walk through.
Your data, your call
You can now delete your account yourself. The control lives in Settings, behind a two-step confirmation so it can’t happen by accident. When you confirm, you’re signed out everywhere immediately and your data is scrubbed shortly after. You get a confirmation email once it’s done.
Posts you made in shared games stay put, so nobody else’s story gets holes in it. Anything you wrote in character keeps your character’s name. Out-of-character posts show as posted by deleted-user instead. Your characters remain part of the games they were in; only the link back to you is removed.
There’s also a new Privacy and Consents page in Settings. It shows which version of the Terms and Privacy Policy you accepted and when, and lets you turn optional things like game notification emails on or off.
Email you control
Every email we send now carries a working unsubscribe link, including the one-click option your email client shows at the top. No login, and it takes effect immediately.
Under the hood
Most of this cycle went into work you won’t see directly. We reorganized large parts of the codebase, tightened up how the app talks to the server in real time, and fixed a handful of race conditions that could double up an inventory item or drop a live update. The app should feel a touch snappier, and we’re in better shape to build the next round of features on top.
The nest is tidier than it’s been in a while. Join the waitlist or find us on Discord and Bluesky.
